Purpose
The purpose of the Occupational Certificate: Internal Auditor (ICT Internal Auditor), NQF Level 7, is to develop learners who are competent, ethical, and work-ready internal audit professionals with specialised capability in information and communication technology (ICT) audit environments. An Internal Auditor executes internal audit engagements under supervision of an Internal Audit Professional in accordance with the International Professional Practices framework in order to meet specific audit engagement objectives.
Qualifying learners will be able to plan, conduct, and report on internal audits with a specific focus on ICT systems, governance, risk management, and internal controls, in accordance with professional internal auditing standards, applicable legislation, and recognised frameworks.
This qualification supports the development of specialised internal audit skills aligned to national skills priorities and enhances career progression within the internal audit, risk management, and assurance professions.

The Internal Auditor (ICT Internal Auditor), NQF Level 7 qualification follows a comprehensive three-part learning structure of Knowledge module, Practical Skills module and Work Experience module as summarised below:

Module 5: Fundamental of Finance and Accounting
Practical Skill Modules:
Module 1: Identify the context within which organisations function, the various external and internal influences and organisational processes and systems.
Module 2: Conduct operational risk and control assessment for processes under review
Module 3: Map/flow chart operational systems and processes
Module 4: Conduct field work and testing
Module 5: Draft engagement findings
Module 6: Apply due professional care
Module 7: Prepare an Internal Audit engagement work programme
Module 8: Capture and document results and evidence
Module 9: Apply the principles and rules associated with relevant codes of ethics, Level
This qualification also requires the following Work Experience Modules:
Module 1: Identify the context within the organisation to which the engagement applies and the various external and internal influences and organisational processes and systems related to the engagement.
Module 2: Conduct operational risk and control assessment for processes under review.

The Internal Auditor (ICT Internal Auditor), NQF Level 7 qualification can be delivered at a location of your choice or tailored to your company’s needs. This course can also be presented through a combination of contact sessions (face-to-face learning), online and self-study.

Assessment and Certification
External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA)
- After completing the knowledge, practical skills, and WIL components, learners are eligible to sit for the EISA, which is conducted under QCTO regulations
- The EISA evaluates the learner’s ability to integrate theory and practice in conducting ICT internal audits

- Successful learners are awarded the: Occupational Certificate: Internal Auditor (ICT Internal Auditor), NQF Level 7 SAQA ID: 101405
